Same-day implant (immediate implant placement) is a protocol in which the implant screw is placed in the extraction cavity in the same session, immediately after the removal of a tooth that is damaged or requires extraction. Although it is not a method that can be applied to every patient, it is an option that is evaluated for its potential to shorten the treatment process and minimize bone loss in the right candidate.

First, suitability is evaluated by tomography and clinical examination. In suitable patients, extraction and implant placement are performed in the same session. If necessary, a temporary protective structure can be applied. The healing process and permanent crown fitting are similar to the standard implant protocol.
